Invisible Things is a book which deconstructs, analyses and reflects upon the processes of creating An Infinite Line: Brighton. It will combine text, transcribed dialogues, design drawings, architectural plans, photographs, rehearsal notes, production stills, copies of artist’s notebooks and audience response to create something which is a kind of documentation, and a visual and textual event in its own right.
The book will reveal the invisible, private and usually hidden things that take place inside a creative process, and as a visual and textual landscape, it will try to recreate, on the page for the reader, a reading experience that is somehow an echo of the viewing experience of the spectator of the original event. The book is a map of two landscapes; the landscape of the original performance, and the landscape of meaning that is constructed by the reader’s encounter of the book.
