Exquisite Moments and Imperfect Endings

"At the end of the performance, the lights begin a long, slow fade to blackout..."

Made for Matters of Life and Death, BAC's millennial festival of work about death and dying, this piece is a playful and poetic mediation on performance as a metaphor for life and death, and a reflection on the unstoppability of time. Performed to a live 'cello accompaniment, Exquisite Moments and Imperfect Endings combines a philosophy of time with heartbreaking images of fragility and impermanence - made from glass, sand and fire.
