Guest Grief Gatherings

ONLINE

Thursday 12 November - Monday 30 November 2020

Book tickets

As part of our project This Grief Thing, we’ve created Grief Gatherings. They’re small, free group conversations about grief we’ve been hosting all over the country since 2015.

If you’d like to attend a Grief Gathering hosted by our Co Artistic Directors Sam Butler and David Harradine you can book here.

We believe there are many ways to grieve and to talk about grief, so we’ve decided to invite special guests to host their own Grief Gatherings in any way they choose.

Guest Hosts in November:

Priya Jay
A writer and curator from London. Her work is concerned with cracks in the archives, myth and dreaming collective care. Priya is currently thinking about grief as embodied, disobedient, transgenerational and as evidence of love. Priya will be hosting a session on 12 November.

Dan de la Motte
A Queer performer, presenter, lecturer, producer, curator and activist. Dan will be hosting a session on 17 November.

Nubian Life
Jazz Browne is the CEO of Nubian Life; an organisation with an unrivalled reputation within the health & social care sector providing Cultural specific elderly care & community based projects. Francis Ngale is the End of Life Carers Project Manager at Carers Network; Francis is passionate about the importance of planning for the last years of life and supporting conversations about death, dying and bereavement in the community. They’ll be hosting a closed group session on 12 November.

Lou Robbin
A multidisciplinary artist and writer intent on making art that explores the beauty in ritual and the self (self-care, self-harm, self-esteem). Lou will be hosting a closed group session on 30 November.

We’re really keen to hear from all sorts of people about how easy or difficult they find it to talk about their own or other people’s grief. There is no obligation to talk, you’re welcome to just sit and listen.

All Grief Gatherings will last approximately 1 ½ hours (apart from Lou Robbin’s session which will last 2 hours), take place on Zoom, and they're free to attend but booking is essential.

If you require captioning or a British Sign Language interpreter, or for any other queries, please contact: griefgatherings@feveredsleep.co.uk

“It was incredibly useful for me to hear others share how they feel. Even just being able to identify my feelings in others made me feel soothed and brought me a feeling of relief. ”

“It was so beautiful. Something about it meant we could just talk gently, and openly, and follow the shared lines of enquiry together, in the last light of the day. It felt like a piece of art in itself. ”
