A non-narrative dance film and conceptual art mash-up, We Are Not Finished is an intimate and urgent portrait of 13 teenagers in contemporary London, each grappling with the weight of a broken world. Set against an urban backdrop and driven by a powerful original score, the film captures their raw emotions—fear, hope, anger, and joy—through moments of vulnerability, struggle, and defiance.
In a time of ecological collapse, a failing education system, and economic austerity, these teenagers confront a world on the brink. As they wrestle with their environment and each other, they challenge us: Why did you let this happen?
The screening of We Are Not Finished will be preceded by Children and Young People as Creative Activists: a conversation between artist Keisha Thompson, researcher Kiera Vaclavik and members of the cast, hosted by the film’s directors Sam Butler and David Harradine.
