I’m an academic specialising in all things related to childhood and in children’s everyday lives and experiences.
I came quite late to the Fevered Sleep party – first making contact with Sam and David as recently as 2020. I’ve followed the company closely ever since and am incredibly proud to have been appointed a trustee.
I’m particularly interested in books and clothes but the research centre that I lead is committed to exploring all facets of cultural production with and for children, from illustration and fashion to architecture, performance and music. My university work has encompassed lots of partnerships with museums, and with organisations across the cultural and creative industries, so I feel that my career so far has been amazingly varied.
When I’m not working, I love cooking and walking and looking at things. And even though books are basically my job, I’m also a passionate lay reader (and proud member of a book club).
